About our geography quizzes

Geography is the category people think they know until the fourth question. Our geography quizzes cover the classics, such as world capitals, flags and the rivers and mountains that shape the map, along with the famous landmarks that turn up on every bucket list. Each quiz is a short multiple choice round with four options per question.

Every answer arrives with a short explanation and an extra fact, so a wrong guess about the capital of Australia still leaves you knowing why Canberra was built. The quizzes are written and checked by people, and we update them when borders, capitals or records change.

What will you explore?

Capitals and countries

National capitals, tricky ones that moved, and where countries sit on the map.

Flags of the world

Colours, stars and crosses, and the flags that are easy to mix up.

Landmarks and physical features

Rivers, mountain ranges, deserts and the monuments that define a place.

Good to know before you play

How hard are the geography quizzes?

They range from easy warm-ups on capitals to harder rounds on rivers and mountains. Each quiz shows its difficulty before you start.

Are the answers kept up to date?

Yes. When a capital moves or a record changes, the question and its explanation are updated, and readers can report anything that looks off.

Can I use these questions for a pub quiz or class?

Yes, for personal, classroom or pub quiz use with a credit to Trivia.net. Please do not republish whole quizzes elsewhere.

Or take a bit of everything.
